The 2011 Assemblies of God Michigan District Council

Assemblies of God? Huh? What's that all about? If you're asking yourself this question, just click here and check it out!

Alright, now that you understand what the Assemblies of God is all about, today's post is featuring last week's Michigan District Council that took place in Lansing. Each year, each district (or state) holds it's own district council in which all the pastors in each separate state come together to get general business taken care of, to fellowship, to hold much needed meetings, to officially ordain pastors into service among other various things. This was my third year I of photographing this event, and I have been quite honored to be a part of this event each year.

My favorite part of this event has become the ordination service. Ordination is the highest level you can achieve as a pastor in the Assemblies of God. It takes lots of hard work, study and full time service to be considered as a candidate for ordination, and it makes me so proud to see people in leadership take on that challenge and responsibility.

Enjoy a glimpse into last week's event!

Honoring those who have been an ordained minister for 50+ years:

Each year, 'back-drop' pictures are taken of the presbyters and ordination candidates. This is an example of 'crazy pastors wanting pictures together' and 'a pastor I very much admire' ...Pastor Dave Williams of Mt. Hope Church
