The W Family {Clio, MI Family Portrait Photograhy}

Blonde hair, blue eyed cuties. That's who the W family is! This family is seriously one of THEE cutest, wonderful families ever.

...And what's not to love about a mini-session at a christmas tree farm (Windy Hill Christmas Tree Farm, to be exact)? As Kim, the mama of the family said, "It was just such the perfect amount of time for the kids." I concur. Mini-sessions are the best for small kids...you know...since your average child doesn't really consider getting their portrait taken one of their top ten favorite fun things to do. Or really, it doesn't even make the top 200 list in most cases. ;) A short, fun, interactive and quick session is sometimes the best bet!

I really enjoyed my time with this group of cutie pies. I think they'll steal your heart, too!

Lil' miss Lauren apparently loves sticking her tongue out...she did it in so many photos! What a CUTIE!

Doug & Madi {Flint, MI Wedding Photography}

Doug and Madi......SUCH a fun and in love couple. Seriously, their wedding was off the charts amazing. It was so awesome in my book because they made their day THEIRS and nobody else's. SOOOOO often I get questions from brides/grooms/family members that go something like this, "So you go to a lot of weddings. How are we supposed to do this?" I cringe when I hear things like this ....just wanting to shout, "WHO CARES what everyone else does that their wedding! How do YOU want your day to be done?"

Doug and Madi designed their day to suit their desires, loves and likes. They L-O-V-E the TV series Firefly (based off of the movie Serenity) and thought it would be quite fun to theme their wedding after it. They, their wedding party and their guests all dressed as characters from the series...their decorations included hints from the series....AND everyone was carrying around fake guns (mostly nerf guns...repainted by Doug and Madi). Their were little nerf bullets flying through the air all.day.long. It was AWESOME.

All of this aside I will remember their big day forever in the corner of my memory. So many unique details. So much love. And now a list of awesome details from their wedding:

-They had a 'first look' and a few moments together alone before the ceremony. It was the sweetest thing EVER.
-Madi's father performed the ceremony...if you look at one of the photos below, you can see a tear falling from his eye during the ceremony. It was sooo incredibly touching, and nearly everyone shed some tears of happiness at that moment.
-Their ring-warming ceremony...lovely. Each guest (only closest friends and family were at the ceremony) held the rings and said a blessing over their marriage. Awh.
-Madi, Doug and their friends/family are so unique, accepting, loving and friendly. I just love them.
-Doug and Madi had a several hours in between their 11-11-11 wedding ceremony and reception to chill and relax with their friends. The most stress free wedding I've ever photographed by far.
-Their ceremony took place at the Whaley House Museum in downtown Flint....ummm, AMAZINGLY gorgeous it was.
-Their wedding cake was handmade by a friend, the paper cranes were all made my Madi and her mama, the DJ was Madi's super cute Grandpa and the food was provided via the caterer Madi works for (the most unique little delicacies ever!).
-A HUGE smorgasbord of desserts, home-made by family and friends, was devoured by their guests.

This and so so much more. I just love this couple. And I loved their day. Please take notes from them and realize you do not need to adhere to traditional wedding rules if you don't want to. BE FREE and create your day to suit YOU! :)
